HouseGuard™ Complete Waterproofing System
 When considering a waterproofing system, we suggest
HouseGuard, which incorporates Dow Styrofoam® Board. This product will not
crush or slide down the foundation wall during the backfilling operation.
HouseGuard is a complete system that waterproofs, insulates and drains water
away from the basement. We are so confident in the effectiveness of this

HouseGuard introduces the Dow Chemical insulated
Styrofoam® Board for a complete waterproofing system. We apply a special 1
inch Styrofoam® blue board that is designed to minimize cost and offer
maximum value in insulation from heat and cold, water drainage and protection
against wall damage.

Benefits of HouseGuard complete waterproofing system

Board strength is an important factor when applying a
waterproofing systems. Unfortunately, many protection boards crunch down the
wall when back filling occurs. If this happens, it is not difficult to imagine
what the result will be in just a few years! Consider these two factors:

R-Value needs air space to work and
-
Water needs drainage space to travel through. Both
are lost when the protection board is compressed to a flat surface. In
contrast, HouseGuard Styrofoam® boards have the unique ability to withstand
high compressive loads from backfilling while at the same time maintaining the
ability to both drain water and hold insulation value.

HouseGuard Retains R-Value Not Water! In a moisture
resistance test, Styrofoam® brand insulation and other rigid foam
insulation were placed on the exterior foundation wall of a commercial
building. After 18 months, moisture content and thermal resistance was
measured. Styrofoam® brand insulation out performed the others. In a recent
lab test, the materials were submerged in water for 21 days. When the materials
were removed from the water, Styrofoam® brand insulation contained no
measurable moisture content. |

HouseGuard meets Model Energy Codes. Styrofoam®
brand insulation is available in a standard 1 inch thickness with an R-5 value
up to a 2 inch thickness with an R-10 value. Dry and comfortable below grade
living space is assured by using Styrofoam® brand insulation. |

on a local level, prices will vary in your area. Generally speaking, the
complete system costs less than $1.50/sq. ft. Exact pricing and details can be

What kind of warranty is available to me? HouseGuard Complete
Waterproofing System comes with a 20-year performance warranty. If at any time
within a 20-year period your house leaks in the areas where HouseGuard has been
applied, and it is not a structural problem, we will repair it at No Cost to
you.
