What is Damproofing? It is an asphalt type product that is applied paper thin to the foundation wall. This product was never designed to protect the wall from water leakage because damproofing does not have any crack bridging properties or the ability to resist water pressure. When the walls settle and crack, the damproofing can not expand to meet the crack; therefore, it can not provide protection from water leakage.

The Waterproofing Process:

Third, Tru-Dry Waterproofing Membrane is applied (60 mils. thick) by spray to give a seamless protective coating to the walls of the foundation.

Tru-Dry waterproofing is a BOCA (Building Officials and Code Administrators) evaluated product and is applied at 60 mils. thickness (about the thickness of a dime). It is safe for the Environment because it is a water-based product. It contains no harmful pollutants to contaminate the air or soil.
